A quiet oasis in the chaos of the Joydev Kenduli mela. Attracts genuine practitioners of the Baul craft of music. Heard and witnessed the best Baul performances of my life. The food was hygienic and good. The proximity to Moner Manush Akhara is an added attraction. Recommended place to stay.Posted on Google sharmila bhattacharjeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hotat kore du din er jono golok e chilam. Shouvik, the owner of the place, is such a gentle and sweet-hearted person. He offered us the most delicious homely food in the town and showed us where to visit to listen to and jam with marvellous Baul musicians. The riverside location made the stay peaceful, and sitting on a bower beside a small open temple shaded by a Bunyan tree and listening to lovely music felt so cosy. I'd definitely recommend the place to anyone who wishes to travel the rural town to go deeper into the root culture of Bengal.Posted on Google Sam PerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is a very special place, with a peaceful garden, right beside a beautiful temple. Shouvic and Shanita cooked me delicious local cuisine and showed me parts of Joydeb I would not have experienced otherwise - Joydeb has so much to offer. Its a hub of fascinating ideas and music that will certainly leave you inspired. Golok is in prime position to explore and Shouvic has both the knowledge and access that will enable you to make the most of your trip, and more. I highly recommend a visit to Golok Riverside Retreat!
